NOAA Climate Variability & Predictability Program - Call for proposals under the title "Assessing Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) Variability: Implications for Rapid Climate Change". The AMOC program will include activities in the following areas:

    • Fundamental research (e.g. description of the AMOC, its variability, critical processes)
      • Observing and monitoring the AMOC (e.g. design and development, stewardship of data)
      • Ocean analyses (e.g. improving ocean models and historical ocean analyses)
      • Development of nowcasting capabilities and experimental products
      • Assessment of potential impacts of rapid AMOC changes
